Coughing

Elissa worries....

Seth has been coughing for several weeks. It kept getting worse, a very dry croupy sort of cough. But it is the middle of summer so I didn't worry and it wasn't hurting him. Eventually I decided to take him to the Doctors. We walked in and he coughed and she started writing a script immediately - without even examining him. She did examine him afterwards but only to confirm her suspicions - a bad chest infection. We left with a list of medications to buy, 1 oral (once a day), 1 via Nebuliser (4 times a day) and one a puffer (twice a day).

I felt guilty that I hadn't brought him sooner, but how many times do I take to the Doctors only to be told it is nothing.

She has also inspected a new freckle on my leg and decided to remove it. The dentist these holidays is also getting to know me and my Credit Card very well. 2 visits down and one left to go. I think my kids should be dentists when they get older - they can then make back all of that money I have spent on Dentists in my life time.

[Note from Adam; If I'd written this blog, it would have contained lot's of Darth Vader references, but I didn't, so it doesn't. No, Seth, I AM YOUR FATHER!]

  2. Hope he is better soon. What a horrible thing to have. But Elissa...... sometimes we just don't know when something is worse than first thought. Elijah broke his arm a couple of years ago, we didn't take him to the doctors for nearly 48 hours as he seemed fine most of the time. We kicked ourselves for what felt like ages, but he was still playing, laughing, running etc. Sometimes we just don't know.
