It's a New Car!

Adam celebrates the arrival of the latest addition to our family:

Our Kia Carnival LS is no more. We first leased this car back in Aug 2005, following the write-off our previous car in "the accident". We got it when it was brand new, and in the subsequent 6 and a bit years have managed to clock over 210,000 kms (130,000 miles) in it. This car was driven to Perth, to Brisbane, to Melbourne at least 4 times, and to Sydney countless times, as well as numerous day trips to the coast, the snow fields and Canberra surrounds. We certainly drove it into the ground. A car of it's age is only meant to have done between 90 - 150,000 kms, so it's definitely been used. It was a good car apart from the last 18-24 months when it started to wear out, and started becoming very expensive to repair.

Well, that car was finally traded in Friday, on a brand new Kia Grand Carnival S. Well, OK, technically it's not brand new, it's a demonstration model, but it's only done 73kms, so it's actually got less kms on it than the Carnival we picked up in 2005 which was "new". It is "Crystal Blue" in color, and we got a few extras - nudge bar, roof rack, window tinting, reversing alarm, et al.

Elissa has been able to finally utilise one of her Christmas presents on the new car - "My Family" stickers. I note that they don't appear to have "Fat Star Wars Nerd Dad" stickers for some reason. They probably assume such people usually don't get to breed I presume.
