OK, had a chance to inspect the house this morning from last night's storm. The main issues appear to:
- the loss of approx 19 metres (62 feet) of guttering around the house torn off by the storm
- carpet on bottom floor is saturated in several areas
- water damage to ceiling in Jayde's room and kitchen
The bucket we placed under the main light in the kitchen collected about 25mm (about an inch) of rain that came through the light fitting. Several areas around doors/windows are wet, but these are non-carpeted (laundry/craft area/dining room) so we've just mopped them up ourselves.
Insurance is sending around somebody to try and dry out the carpets for us, but they won't look at the gutters until Monday. Hmmm - seeing as there are more storms forecast for today and showers the next 7 days I'm not sure about the wisdom of that.
